Kes berlaku di Nibong Tebal. Kesian pula aku tengok muka mak dia. Kecewa yang amat. Baru melahirkan anak selepas sebulan dah meninggal disebabkan ditimpa durian. Allah swt lebih menyayangi anak dia. Semoga tabah dan sabar dalam menghadapi dugaan ini.

The parents of Muhd Yusuf who was killed by a falling durian have accepted his death as fate.

His Indonesian mother Samimi Kasmin said she was trying to comfort her one-month-old son who was crying when the incident happened at about 4pm on Tuesday.

“I took him from the cradle and walked outside to soothe him. The next thing I knew, we were hit by something. At first, I thought it was a boulder.

“Later, I was told that it was a 2kg durian which had fallen from a 13m-high tree,'' Samimi, 29, said at the Seberang Jaya Hospital yesterday.

Recounting the incident outside her rented house in Kampung Badak Mati, Samimi said she immediately sought help from neighbours who rushed both of them to the Sungai Bakap Hospital.

Short life: Muhd Yusuf was buried after Zohor prayers yesterday.

“Part of Muhd Yusuf's head was covered with thorn marks and bleeding,” she said, holding back her tears.

Her husband, Bangladeshi Zainal Abedin, 46, said he rushed to the hospital from work. By the time the contract worker arrived, Muhd Yusuf had died.

“I accept this tragedy as fate,” said Zainal.

The baby's body was taken to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post mortem and claimed by the couple at noon yesterday.

He was buried at the cemetery behind Masjid Lama Sungai Bakap after Zohor prayers.
